FAQ

Purchasing/Shipping Questions

  • Why does the price of shipping change depending on where I send it to?
    • Short Answer: Because that’s what USPS and FedEx charge me.
    • Longer Answer: All pre-packaged comes at the moment via USPS Flat Rate Boxes, you may find that it is cheaper with shipping to go pre-packaged if you live say on the west coast.
      • To California   DropShip: 100 lbs is $115          Prepackaged: 100 lbs is $70
    • FedEx does charge based upon distance traveled even for their standard boxes which is why USPS is still winning that battle. Others? When I’ve run the numbers their more expensive than the above two options. I’m willing to look into them if/when that changes.
  • What if I want to order more than 150 lbs?
    • Really? Awesome!
    • Send me an email and I’ll give you a customized invoice. This is due to shipping. The I’ve noted pricing out shippers since I took over. Once we’re over about 100 lbs the price will shift a bit more than I’m willing to program into the system because either I’m over charging or eating a not so small amount to get it to you. I’ve set shipping prices up to 150 lbs for convenience.
    • What should I put in the email?
      • Name, Address to be shipped to, and Type and Quantity of Product (yes you can mix and match!)
  • Will you ship internationally?
    • Yes*
    • * I will give you a quote if you are outside of the US or Canada. You may not like the shipping cost. Last I quoted the UK was $490 for a single drop ship box. I will shop around for who is the cheapest at the time you ask for a quote.
    • If your say in the EU/UK sphere I do have some contacts that is not the same but similar materials that I can direct you to depending on what the project is your needing this for.
  • Can I locally pick up and avoid shipping?
    • Yes!
    • Send an email and I’ll get you an invoice. This avoids shipping, but I do have to charge you OH sales tax. Good news, is I’m right over the border in Delaware County and we are only 7%.
    • I’m right outside of Polaris Mall in Columbus OH – this is where I’ll meet people for pick ups. Just because its much easier to find. Other arrangements can be made, there are a handful of gaming stores in the area and such.
    • Why did you turn off the option to select local pickup? Honestly, too many people were selecting it and I had to turn around and send invoices out to fix it.
  • Something happened to my package in shipping?
    • Let me know. Seriously I’ll do what I can to make it right. If they lost or broke it I can start a process of tracking it down and making them pay for a new shipment.
    • I try to keep things nice and cozy since we started shipping with the packing peanuts for pre-packaged (if you have room for them). If something happened and its an issue I’ll do my best to fix the issue.
  • Why does my package have “CAUTION CUTTING OPEN BOX!” on it?
    • Most likely this is because you have what we call a Regional A box with 15 lbs in it. Due to the design of the box, the dead middle of the box lacks cardboard protecting underneath where it’s closed together. Less than 15 lbs I can put packing peanuts to protect the bag — at 15… I have no room. I try and put the invoice there so you don’t accidentally slice the bag.

    • I’m up for considering this, it’s part of how Excalibur came to Merlin’s Magic Plaster. Send me an email though the contact page and I will at least hear it out. I can’t make any promises other than I’ll consider it.
  • Who are the Minions from your emails?
    • Well not quite the little yellow people, but just as helpful. There are two minions who “work” here at Merlin’s. I don’t really pay them unless gooshyfood counts (…they get it anyway). Their names are Fiona and Maeve and are two Bengals. Their picture is on the Facebook page.
    • But I’m allergic to cats…
      • The closest they get to items are the computer and meow when the order sound happens. They don’t have the ability to get to the area with product or packaging materials.
    • What is their interest in the company?
      • They are gamer cats. We commonly refer to them as CR20 Cat Deities/Demons, and they will attempt to assist players or hinder them per their own chaotic nature. Fiona has a killboard currently of Diablo hardcore characters. They also have a Ravager kill from Warhammer.
